On October 3, 2026, Guardians of Old Glory had the privilege of presenting 100 new American-made American flags to the U.S. Naval Sea Cadet Corps’ Scorpion Squadron 13-2 during a special ceremony at the U.S. Naval Undersea Museum in Keyport, Washington.

The ceremony brought together Bremerton Mayor Greg Wheeler, members of the United States Marine Corps, Sea Cadet leadership, cadets, families, and supporters from the community for a successful and meaningful event.

The 100 flags were purchased by Guardians of Old Glory to help these young men and women continue our mission in their own communities: identifying worn or tattered American flags and respectfully replacing them with new American-made flags at no cost to the homeowner.

The Marines also spent time talking with the Sea Cadets, answering their questions and sharing their experiences in the Marine Corps.

We are especially grateful to the U.S. Naval Undersea Museum for allowing us to use their facility for this special event, and to everyone who attended and helped make the ceremony possible.

These Sea Cadets now have the opportunity to carry the flag mission forward, honoring our nation, serving their communities, and helping ensure Old Glory continues to fly proudly.
Northwest Veterans also shared the story of the ceremony and our mission. Read the Northwest Veterans article here.
